Export Compliance & Disclaimers

Last updated: 2026-10-20 · Authoritative in English only.

Read this before ordering. Robotics products can fall under export-control catalogues in China and in destination countries. A listing on this site is informational only — it is not an offer, and it does not certify that any item may be exported to your country, your end-use, or your organisation.

China: the rules that apply to robotics

  • Export Control Law of the PRC (effective 1 Dec 2020) and the Regulations on the Export Control of Dual-Use Items (effective 1 Dec 2024): controlled items need licence checks by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM); end-user and end-use certificates may be required.
  • 2024 Announcement adding drone-related items to the dual-use catalogue: certain UAS payloads and heavy-lift drones require export licences. The consumer robots on this site (vacuums, mowers, companion bots) are general goods, but several listings — robot arms, legged platforms with autonomy payloads, edge-AI compute — are screened case by case against the dual-use catalogue thresholds.
  • Suppliers on this site commit to running classification + restricted-party screening (against Chinese, US OFAC/BIS and EU consolidated lists) for every order before accepting payment.

Destination-market rules you should know

  • USA / Canada: FCC (Part 15) / ISED for radios; FTC made-in labeling and advertising substantiation; Importer Security Filing and — as of 2025 — the end of de-minimis for many Chinese parcels: budget duty realistically on small orders. Certain Chinese-connected camera/LiDAR platforms face additional procurement bans in US government contexts; consumer purchase is generally unaffected.
  • EU / UK: CE marking (new EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 phases in from Jan 2027) or UKCA; RED for radios; GPSR product-contact rules; WEEE/EPR take-back registration for importers; GDPR for any camera/mic products. Battery regulation (EU 2023/1542) applies to built-in Li-ion.
  • GCC: G-mark conformity for many consumer electronics; CST telecom type-approval for Wi-Fi devices; Arabic labelling increasingly expected for retail.
  • Southeast Asia: SIRIM (MY), SDPPI (ID), NBTC (TH), IMDA-adjacent rules (SG) for radios; halal-adjacent logistics constraints on lithium air freight.

Sanctions & end-user screening

We do not list products for sale to persons or territories under UN, Chinese, US or EU sanctions (incl. Russia/Belarus embargo items, Iran, DPRK, Syria, Cuba, Crimea/DNR/LNR). Buyers are responsible for their own end-user declarations. Suppliers reserve the right to cancel orders that fail screening, with refund.

AI-specific note

Products here integrate AI models. Chinese generative-AI services are governed by the Interim Measures for Generative AI Services (2023); exported devices with voice assistants must respect destination rules on deepfakes (EU AI Act transparency obligations for interactive systems phase in Aug 2026) and data transfer. On-device model weights shipped abroad are generally uncontrolled, but autonomy software for drones/legs can be.

How to read our listings

Every product page links back to this compliance policy, shows the supplier's claimed certifications, and flags which items are dual-use-sensitive. When in doubt, ask the supplier on WhatsApp for: HS code, ECCN/classification memo, test reports, and — where applicable — an MOFCOM licence confirmation number.
